Framed mesh fence is a welded mesh panel welded into a frame. The panel is welded from low-carbon steel wire to the aperture the customer specifies, and the frame is made from square tube, round tube, rectangular tube or angle steel. Welding the mesh into the frame is what holds the panel flat and gives it the rigidity of a framed unit rather than a loose sheet.

The frame is made from 20 × 30 mm or 20 × 40 mm rectangular welded tube with a wall of 0.8, 1.0, 1.2 or 1.5 mm. The posts are ø48 mm round tube with a wall of 1.0, 1.2, 1.5 or 2.0 mm, or square tube in 40 × 40, 60 × 60, 40 × 60 or 80 × 80 mm with a wall from 0.8 to 2.0 mm. Frame and post section are chosen together, because the panel is fixed to the post along the frame.

The surface is electro-galvanised or hot-dip galvanised and then PVC dipped, or galvanised plus powder coating. Colours are white, green, dark green, grass green, black, blue and yellow. The mesh aperture and the panel size follow the drawing, so the panel is quoted to the run rather than to a catalogue size.

What you need to decide

Five choices fix the panel and the post, and they all have to be settled before we can confirm the build in writing.

  • Mesh aperture and wire diameter: the panel is welded to the aperture the customer specifies, so send the drawing or the standard you follow.
  • Frame material and section: square tube, round tube, rectangular tube or angle steel, and 20 × 30 or 20 × 40 mm rectangular welded tube at 0.8, 1.0, 1.2 or 1.5 mm wall.
  • Post section: ø48 mm round tube at 1.0–2.0 mm wall, or square tube in 40 × 40, 60 × 60, 40 × 60 or 80 × 80 mm at 0.8–2.0 mm wall.
  • Surface and colour: electro-galvanised or hot-dip galvanised then PVC dipped, or galvanised plus powder coating, in white, green, dark green, grass green, black, blue or yellow.
